This manual’s step-by-step setup instructions for Bitmain’s Antminer S9, Antminer S9i, and Antminer S9j‘s V9 V1.0 test jig are provided.
IMPORTANT: BITMAIN created this test jig as a unique tool to evaluate the effectiveness of the hash boards. Only our VIP customers and customers who have enrolled in our repair training have access to the test jig and the instructions provided in this article.
Materials Required
1. Thermostat soldering iron (60 W) & iron wire
2. PC with Win 10 OS
3. The V9 hash board test jig V1.0
4. Ribbon cable, approximately 60 cm long. FOC 1 piece with every purchase of a V9 test jig
5. Fan
6. PSU, 12 V >4 A DC @ 3.5 mm or BITMAIN APW3 or APW3++ PSU
7. TF card with the firmware already copied
8. USB port, CP210x or TL43x, or look for USB TLL
9. Dupont (jump) wire, F-M 3P >30 cm with standard serial port
Set Up V9 V1.0 Test Jig Manual for Bitmain Antminer S9, S9i, and S9j
Here is the detailed process to set up the V9 V1.0 test jig manual for three models of Bitmain Antminer S9 Series, Antminer S9, S9i, and S9j.
Connecting the boards and cables
1. Connect the USB and the test jig board cable (earth, red, and orange colored cables). Make sure the serial ports match as below, then solder them together.
The USB port is to be used for connecting to the PC.
After soldering, the signal line should now look like the below:
2. Plug the ribbon cable into the test jig board.
3. Insert the TF card.
4. Plug the fan connector into the test jig board.
5. Plug the PSU connector into the test jig board. If your PSU is using a black color jack as below, you may plug in directly. If you are using the APW series, you may plug into the 6-pin connector.
Software configurations
1. Download and install the required software.
Download and install SecureCRT.
The CP210x driver will automatically download itself to the PC after inserting the CP210x USB drive into the PC.
Know which com port of the PC is used for the USB device.
- To check what port is used by what service. Open device manager > COM Port. Right-click and then click on Properties > Port Settings Tab > Advanced Button > COM Port Number Drop-down menu and assigned the COM port.
2. Set up the software.
Open SecureCRT and choose the com port used for the USD device. Then press “Connect”.
If you are unable to find the com port, connect it manually.
4. Test begins
Once everything is set up and configured, switch on the power. The PC screen will show the software license. Then press the green power to start testing the hash board.
