Three Versions of Firmware for Antminer S9, S9I, S9J
There are three versions of firmware listed in our website, let’s take S9 auto-frequency for example:
- ANTMINER-S9-all-201711171757-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz
It is the original normal firmware.
- ANTMINER-S9-LPM-20181102.tar.gz
It is a LPM firmware that lowers the consumption but maintains the hashrate.
- ANTMINER-S9-all-201812051512-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz
It is another LPM firmware which could lower both the hashrate and the consumption.
Normal Mode, Low Power Mode, and Low Power Enhanced Mode
When you upgrade the third firmware, the miner configuration page will show two setup options:
It indicates that three modes are available now.
Normal Mode——uncheck both
Low Power Mode——only check the first
Low Power Enhanced Mode——only check the second or check both
Let’s take ANTMINER 13.5T as an example:
1. Under the normal mode, the avg.hashrate is 14.18T and the consumption is 1459W.
2. Under the low power mode, the avg.hashrate is 13.88T and the consumption is 1258W.
3. Under the low power enhanced mode, the avg.hashrate is 9.87T and the consumption is 914W.
Mode | Hashrate | Power Consumption |
Normal mode | 14.18T | 1459W |
Low Power Mode | 13.88T | 1258W |
Low Power Enhanced Mode | 9.87T | 914W |
Note the statistics are only for reference and valid for this specific miner; consumption is affected by variable factors
How Do I Choose a Mining Mode?
Choose wisely based on your own calculations as the objective is to pursue the maxim ROI.
Note: if the miner appears to be running unstable or hashrate drops, turn the LPM off or flash back to the original firmware.
